I'm Back!

I know it has been forever since I've posted, but I have been busy, busy, busy. Let me give you the run down on what I've been up to. Last weekend we had to make a run to my mother-in-laws house. Mind you that it is in West Virginia only an 8 hour drive is all. I have never been down there in the winter because my husband says the weather is to unpredictable and he doesn't want to get snowed or iced in there. The only reason we went was because we had a funeral to go to. My husbands niece had suddenly passed away. So we left on Thursday and came home on Sunday. The trip down wasn't that bad, but the trip home was awful! We hit black ice for about 100 miles in Kentucky and could go any faster than 35 mph. Made for a long and scary trip. After we got home we were so stressed from the trip we napped about all day long.
On Monday of this week I got on the CTMH bulletin boards and seen a challenge. I made the following LO for the whole week. I know you probably don't think that is a l0t, but for me to do any scrapping through the week is amazing. These pictures were taken last year and just screaming to be put on a page. I got it done and am happy with it. Now today I get to sit down and scrap to my hearts content, but I have so many cards to make for birthdays, and sympathy, and thinking of you that it will probably take all day to do. We'll see though and maybe you will too.
I have also followed my diet this week, but I don't feel like I am losing any weight. I don't have a decent scale to weigh on so I guess I'll have to wait until the weigh in on February 28th.

2 funernals and a baby

Well this week I had a teacher from my high school lose her husband suddenly and also a high school friend lose her grandfather. You know what they say about death that it comes in 3. So I had to make two sympathy cards. Also I had a former pastor and his wife have their 4th boy this past week. I for one would not be able to handle 4 boys all under the age of 5. My hats off to them. For the baby card I made it using Tressa Black's swinger card idea. It turned out cute, but the nose looks like a little pig to me. I think it might have needed more on the top, but it got sent anyway. I was pretty happy with my sympathy cards and got some good feedback from the girls on the CTMH bulletin boards. Hopefully though I won't have to make to many of these. I hope everyone has a good week.

One week down 7 to go!!

Well I made it one week on the Lose to Win Challenge and I didn't cheat all that much. James had a sweet tooth yesterday and made the ever tempting BROWNIES!!! They were Mississippi Mudd and they were worth every calorie! I'm glad he ate more than me. It's so much easier for him to lose the weight than it is for me.
Now it's time to get back to school too. It has been so hard after being out of school for almost 20 years to go back, but I now have 12 credit hours down and going for 3 more this semester. I think this class will be more interesting to me, because I think it is more hands on. It's easier for me to learn if I do something than just read the directions.

God has blessed me with so many things I can't thank him enough. He really don't want thanks he wants us to lead other people to him. He loves us all and doesn't want to leave anyone behind.

Lose to Win... Weigh In.... Day 1

Well today was the first day of the rest of our lives. James and I are starting the local Biggest Loser contest the runs from January 3 to February 28. Since my birthday is on Monday we decided to go ahead and splurge today and start tomorrow. We did however have to go weigh in. UGH!!! I hope I can get a real good start on this diet. I know I can do it, but it's gonna be harder than before.

Anyway I got to pick for my birthday where we got to go and I decided Dave and Buster's. It was GREAT food and had good fun too. We had been to the one in Chicago a few years back with my cousin and had a blast! I thought Kas would enjoy it this year... and guess what.. She DID! We had a lot of fun til we cashed in our coupons and we didn't have enough for what she wanted. She cried a little, but not to long. When we got ready to leave she crashed in the car about 10 minutes into the drive home. All in all it was a great day except for losing my voice again today. I can't wait until the doctor gets back in town Monday. I'm tired of losing my voice every stinkin' January until March it seems. Well I hope everyone had a great day today. God bless each of you.
