Here's a real quick post before going to bed for some much needed rest. My friend and I tag teamed on this card. She did the embossing with some instruction from me and I stamped and colored the images. I can't remember which pattern from the Originals book this was, but we just threw it together to show off the Stamp of the Month called "You've Got Flair". Hope everyone has a great Friday and I still have more to post later can you believe it... LOL!

How about a little MOJO....

My friend's birthday is Friday along with her husband's and my mom's so I needed to get my mojo going. I decided to use the Mojo Monday sketch and make this card. I really like the way it turned out. I'm just sorry it took me so long to get on the Stampin' UP! in colors bandwagon last season. I also like the stamp set called "Cheep Talk" from SU! I know I'm a CTMH consultant, but I'm and equal opportunity Scrapper. LOL!!

Hope everyone had a great hump day and is on the downhill slide for a great weekend. I have more to post, I just hope I'm not to lazy to do it. LOL!

I have actually been crafting, but.....

I haven't taken any pictures of what I have done. I have actually made 5 pages and should be finishing up some right now, but I have other things on my mind. I thought I'd show you a picture of my little girl in her Knights in Armour outfit. Our church has recently started a class for the kids on Sunday afternoon. The have a Bible study first and then go to the basement and learn some Kung Fu. The couple who started this are awesome Godly people and the kids enjoy it so much.I just think Kassidee looks so cute in her costume. First they learn how to put the Armour of God on when they go out in the world and then they are taught not to start fights, but to learn to protect themselves if someone ever attacks them. I enjoy watching them and really hope that Kassidee learns more about our wonderful Saviour. I can't wait until the day the Holy Spirit fills her heart and leads her to salvation. She has already started asking about different things that are said in church so I pray it will only take time and she too will be saved from sin. I love my little knight and everything she does. I will always support her in whatever she may pursue. I just pray God puts his hand on her and leads her through her life.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July and will remember what it really means. Thank God for this wonderful country I can praise him openly and not be scrutinized. I hope to be back soon with some artwork posts until then.....

Finally a LAYOUT!!!

I have a workshop tomorrow night and I finally got a layout done. My girls wanted to do the July "workshop on the go" this month because most of them went to the zoo over Memorial Day weekend. I changed it up a little bit because I was supposed to use the "Sweet Baby" stamp set, but used "It's a Zoo" instead.

These pictures were taken at Grant's Farm in St. Louis last July. We went with my friend Kathy, her husband, and their grand children. We really had a great time and I got some Great pictures.

The weather here in Southern Illinois is very hot and HUMID! I know it has been raining a lot, but I think I would rather have the rain and it be cool than it be sunny and humid. When it's this kind of weather all you want is lay in the pool and relax, but unfortunately I have to work and the pool is not ready yet. James started on it tonight so maybe it will be ready for our vacation in about a week.

Hope everyone has had a great Thursday and is gearing up for a great weekend! We are having a sleepover on Saturday night so it should be lots of fun. Just hope Kassidee can control the green eyed monster... LOL!

3 2 1... Blast Off!!!!

I have just been randomly picking out picture and scrapping them lately. These pictures were taken at Six Flags 2 years ago. James and I took turns riding the rides with Kassidee. She was 3 at the time. I of course had to ride the Marvin the Martian ride because he is my FAV-O-RITE cartoon character. I don't know why he is, but I just like that little green guy.
Anywhoo, I used some more Stardust paper for this layout and who would of thought I would have used so much "boy" paper (that's what my workshop girls call it) for my little girl. I think you can dress any paper up for a girl, but it's a little harder to do for a boy. I guess God did had a plan for me when He blessed me with Kassidee. He knew my little pea brain couldn't figure out how to do boy layout's. LOL!
I hope you enjoy your weekend. I hope to hit some rummage sales tomorrow and get the garage cleaned out. So I can get my scrap area set up good.

Love to hike!!

Well I got to be creative once again tonight. We went to a benefit

supper tonight for an Amish boy who had got kicked in the head by a horse. This happened some time back, but the hospital bills are piling up. He was taken to a local hospital and the air lifted to Cardinal Glennon in St. Louis. He has improved greatly, but he still has headaches and he says he gets befuddled. That sounds like something my grandpa used to say. It's funny to hear a 16 year old boy talk like an elder person.
Ok on to my page. We went hiking in West Virginia in April of 06 and I have just now got around to scrapping to pictures. I used Stampin' Up! Sticky Cuts on this LO with beads. I just love those Sticky cuts. The rest of the paper is from CTMH Rustic Trail Paper Pack. I loved this paper and didn't get another pack before it retired. Maybe I'll come across another pack someday. I do however really love the new Back Country Papers from CTMH.
Once again it is getting late and I haven't even started my daily reads yet, so I better sign off for now. I have more to post tomorrow so come back soon.

A Quick Post

I had time to make a layout today after work and before church tonight. It was kind of rush job, but I like what it looks like.

The brown man came to my house yesterday and I finally got my Daydream paper. I put of getting it for so long and now I wonder why I did.

Another Stardust Layout!

I made another Layout using the Stardust paper pack from Close to my Heart. And since I have a dancing queen I thought the Super Star title went well with these pictures also. Like I said in the previous post Kassidee never stops moving, dancing, running, jumping, etc., etc., etc... She really has a lot of fun when we go camping or even when we are at home. She stays pretty busy all the time.

We have decided to go camping this weekend and I can't wait. It is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL this weekend (high of 82 on Saturday). We aren't taking the boat yet, but probably next time. So a lot of fishing from the bank and bike riding. Kassidee also has a birthday sleepover on Saturday so James and I can have a little romantic weekend. LOL!!! He'll probably be romancing the fish! LOL!!! This will be my last post until next week, so everyone have a great rest of the week and weekend! Oh yeah tomorrow is a very big day also. Kassidee goes to Kindergarten registration. She's growing up way to quick!!! :)

Dancing Queen....

I had a workshop yesterday and we did the Stardust layout from the Workshop on the Go from Close to my Heart. The example in the guide was of a soccer player. Since I don't have a soccer player, but a dancing machine I decided to title my layout as Dancing Queen. In the journaling I said that Kassidee is my dancing queen even though she's not 17, but only 4 1/2.

I think this girl has been dancing ever since she was in the womb. LOL! She never stops moving even in her sleep. LOL! These pictures were taken at Rend Lake while we were on vacation last year. Hope you enjoy your Sunday.

Hi all! I know it has been awhile since I posted, but I have been extremely tired this week. I don't know why maybe a bug or something. I thought I'd share a quick picture of Kassidee's photo shoot this past weekend, and I'm pretty pleased with the pictures. Here's just one of the many that we had done. Kassidee just loves Scott ( my friend who does the pictures) and she always does exactly what he tells her to do. I can't wait to scrap some of these pictures, because I think they will look so good with some pretty spring paper. Well gotta run. Hopefully I'll have some stuff to show you later this weekend.

A Very Full Day, But Always Time For A Card!

Well here is a real quick post.

I had to make 2 anniversary cards tonight so I thought I would make them pretty easy, but still with a big impact. We were so busy today and it still isn't over. We have to get showers and the Easter bunny still has to come tonight too. Here is all we did today:

1) Kassidee and I went to get her pictures made. So we were out of the house by 9 am. When we were pulling out of the garage I thought I was dragging something under the blazer, but when I got outside it still felt funny. I get out of the car and see I have a flat tire. :( I go back inside and yell at James to tell him it's flat and he gets grumpy. It's a good thing that we have 2 cars. So I jump in the other car ans am on my way. Then...

2) I get call from a lady who was having a rummage sale yesterday and it was pouring down rain so she postponed it until today. I bought a couple of SU! stamp sets for $5.00 and thought that was the deal of the day!! Anywhoo, She called to tell me that they still had the Polly Pocket things Kassidee wanted. So after the photo shoo we ran back to the rummage sale and ended up with My Little Pony instead. Then..

3) We get home at about noon. James is still grumpy because of the tire and he is hungry! We then go to my Mom's house drop off Kassidee and go do some bunny shopping. First though we have to get the car to the shop to get the tire fixed. We drop it off at Wal-Mart and walk over to Ryan's for some lunch. By the time we got done eating and walking back to Wal-Mart the car was done. I get the stuff I need for Easter dinner at Mom's and we get our bunny shopping done. Then...

4) We go back to Mom's and start making the cake and the broccoli and cauliflower for tomorrow. Plus we visit for awhile. James watched the game with Dad and he seemed happy and not so grumpy, because he was full, the tire was fixed, and the Cardinals were winning!

Then...

5) We head home at about 5 pm and then I have to take pictures of all my flowers so Mom can see them tomorrow. The neighbor boy comes over and him and Kass play a little shadow boxing and of course I have to take pictures. Then...

6) It's time to color Easter eggs!!! James set up a table in the garage and away we went. Kassidee had to bring all her Build-A-Bears out there because they were watching a movie. ;) We finally got done coloring eggs about 8 pm. Then.....

7) I finally got the time to make this card for my friends who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this week. Also a couple we go to church with celebrated their 35th anniversary today. We were so busy that we didn't have time to squeeze in the reception today. Oh well maybe she'll forgive me after I give her this card. LOL!

So that sums up my whole day and boy was it a doosy!

Chris's Blog Candy....

She is celebrating our Savior and all he has done for us. He is the Rock of all ages. He took away my sins so that one day when I meet him face to face he will be able to look on me and see my light. I am no longer that black sinful Carla anymore. He has washed me white as snow.

Mojo Monday #81 and So Sketchy Sunday #8

Well I had a little mojo this afternoon after work and I thought I'd get a couple of cards made for some challenges. The first one is for the for the Mojo Monday #81 sketch and the second one is for Mary's sketch challenge over at On Life and Creating. I also used the April Stamp of the Month from CTMH called "World's Best Dad". I can used the cards for my board to try and sell a few of these stamps at my next workshop.

I really liked this stamp set because I don't really have any masculine stamps, but this foots the bill. Well I need to go get ready for tomorrow. Kassidee is going to her first real sleep over so I gotta go pack. Hope to hear from you soon.

I can't believe it's been a week...

since I last posted anything. I feel like I'm in a creative rut. I hope to get to the garage to get some scrappin' and stampin' done. I have to get my pages done for my next workshop next weekend. It would be really easy just making time to do it. Maybe if I didn't read so many blogs... LOL! What I would do if I didn't get my daily reads. Maybe I can look through my files and find something I haven't shown you. I think I found something....

You know I love the frogs and I made this little card as a pick me up for a co-worker of my DH's. He always tells me she is kinda down on life and I had made a Christmas card for her that she loved. She had told him that she had lost it and wanted to know could I make her another one. So I made this little diddy and she loved it. I'm so glad I can use my talent (LOL!) to make someone's day.

Hopefully after work tomorrow I can get my juices flowin' I have some card sketches that I need to do and I have them laid out in my head, but I can't seem to get them on paper. LOL! Sooooo until next time, Keep Scrappin'

A Couple of Challenges from SNS Blog Hop Day #1

I follow the Sweet n Sassy blog daily and every month they have a release party. This month they are doing the challenges a little different. You have to go to each DT member's blog and look at what they have made. Today they had 2 challenges. One on Chrissy's blog and the other on Suzy's blog. Suzy's had the sketch challenge and Chrissy had a challenge to use birds on a card. I thought about just making one card for both challenges, but what fun would that be? LOL! For the first card I used The stamp set God's Beauty and Thoughts and Prayer's by Stampin UP! I used Garden Green, Goldrush, Colonial White, and Black CS all from CTMH. The ribbon is from a creative basics pack, but I can't remember the name.

The second card has the Spring Song stamp set from Stampin' Up! and the paper is all CTMH. As you can see I'm and equal opportunity Scrapper. LOL! On the second card I finished the inside and that is something I have never done before. I think it turned out OK.

I just love hummingbird's and I thought he needed some sparkle, so I used my FAVORITE Stickles. I love all things that glitter and I have totally became hooked on these babies.

Well it's getting late and I probably ought to get some shut eye. Oh yeah Korin from Sweet N Sassy is giving away the 4 new release stamps to the winner of the challenges. I hope I get lucky...

This is the Mojo Monday Sketch this week. I finally got my mojo going today too. This is what I came up with.

I really felt like it was springtime today I guess that's why I choose these colors. I'm really happy with the way it turned out and it is just another birthday card to add to my ever growing mother's day stash. This is my plan to try and get 30 birthday cards made for my mother-in-law so she will not have to get out to buy or send birthday cards for all the family. If I don't get 30 made I will have a big dent in it at least. I guess she will get however many I get made. LOL!

Could this be a sign of spring???

We got home from work today and I thought I'd walk around and look at my flowers before going in the house. I was so excited to see that my peach tree was in bloom. Let me tell you a little story about this courageous little tree. LOL! My Mom planted this tree several years ago from a peach pit after she got done eating it. She threw it out the back door into her flower bed along with all the other rubbish. You know what I mean by rubbish; banana peels, potato peels, corn husks, etc. etc. etc. Anyway this little pit started growing right beside her house. Her plan was to dig it up and replant it, but her landlady passed away and the ladies nephew bought the farm. Well, to make a long story short they had to move and I got the tree. Yeah for me! I have had this little baby going on 2 years now and last year it produced 2 peaches. I know that isn't a lot, but I've never had a fruit tree. I was so excited. Now today I see these beautiful blooms and am so excited for this years CROP! LOL!

I do plan on crafting again soon, thought I would today, but there hasn't been enough hours in the day this week. We have even been getting home earlier too. Well Friday is right around the corner and that is definitely a craft night! Plus as an added bonus I don't think we are going anywhere on Saturday so I will be a scrapping fool then too.

Yesterday at our craft day at church I wish I would have got a lot more done, but I was happy to fellowship with the women that was there.

I did get 3 complete LO's done. I just took every piece of paper I owned and just about every embellishment I owned too. I also took all my pictures and the way I decided what to scrapbook was to just grab a pack of pictures and start. I guess you can see I grabbed Christmas 08. Even though later one I seen Christmas 07 pictures that needed done too. LOL. There's always another day. All in all I had a great time and cannot wait until we have another one.

A Little Birthday Card

Here's a real quick birthday card I made for my husband's grandson. His birthday party is in a couple of weeks and I thought this turned out really cute. It was just some scraps I found laying around as I was getting ready for craft day tomorrow at church. I need to be asleep right now, but had to get things out and ready to go for tomorrow. This is my first real crop and I had no idea what to bring so I loaded just about everything. I thought I'd make cards tomorrow for my mother-in-laws mother's day gift, but decided to go with scrapbooking because I'm so far behind and I wouldn't have to take all my ink too. LOL! CBCC # 30 and Spring has Sprung!

This is my second post for today so make sure you scroll down to see my Mojo Monday attempt...

Here's my take on the CCBC #30. It is also a color challenge that has been started on the Close to my Heart Bulletin Board by Kelly Ratcliff. The colors this week were Black, White Daisy, and Sorbet. I used the March stamp of the month called Butterfly Wings. You can purchase this stamp until March 31. I used Just Blooms Big Pinks for the flower and stamped them in Sorbet. I also used the Congrats stamp set from Stampin' Up! I heat embossed it in white. I really like the way this card came together, but looking at it more closely I see that my squares on top are not even...Oh Well, I guess my head was cockeyed when I did this! LOL.

Now for the rest of the story...

Today was a beautiful day and Kassidee and I were cleaning out my flower bed. She gave out on me pretty early and decided that playing with the dogs was more fun than working. I was just a raking away and pulling up leaves and old plant when I seen this.

I reached down to pick up this mess and it moved...

I now have to put off cleaning my beds and mulching until these little cuties are old enough to get out of the nest and make their way into the world. I ran to the back yard and got Kas and she loved them and wanted to keep them and raise them. We have been through the whole rabbit thing and I say leave them WILD! We now know that boxers and rabbits don't mix. Ugh! I took some great pictures and Kassidee got to tell everybody she seen about them. I know she will check on them everyday now and make sure they are OK. All in all it was a great day hanging out with my big little girl the adopted rabbit mom....

I have a couple of things to show you today and a little story too. The first picture is a stamped image from the Stampin' Up! set called Happy Heart Day. I stamped it in Stazon Ink and Kassidee used the water brush to paint the image. She love to use the water brush now that we figured out how to use it. She loves to paint. I had workshop this past Saturday and she had to show all the ladies how to use the brush. She even had me hang her image on the board. She was so proud of what she did. She told me that she made this for the boy who lives across the street from us. He's 6 years older than her, but he doesn't mind playing with her sometimes. She bugs him a lot like a little sister would an older brother. Especially when his friends are over and she teases him about having a girlfriend. Now the this next card I made for my board to show off some of the new items Close to my Heart has to offer, plus I used the Stamp of the Month called Butterfly Wings. I also used some Fancy Cut Botanicals, Liquid Glass, and Prisma Glitter. It was a fairly easy card, but I think it needed some ribbon. Oh well, it still is alright. Hope everyone had a great weekend and no one in your families are sick. Kassidee and I have been passing it back and forth. She always thinks she has to drink after me and I tell her to just ask me for something to drink and I'll get it that way we can get over the CRUD.

Also to those of you that have a personal relationship with God, please pray for my brother-in-law's family. His Aunt lost her husband on Thursday night to a massive heart attack. He was only 49 years old. They have 2 daughters, luckily they are older and she is not left raising them by herself. We went to the funeral home last night and stood in line for 3 hours before we got to see the family. I'm sure today was especially hard on each of them. Thanks for listening to me and for your prayers.

Sketch Challenge and CBCC #29

Here's a little sketch card I made from Mary's sketch over at the On Life and Creating blog. Every week she has a sketch on Sunday to try and I thought I'd try it out this week. This is about the third time I've ever attempted a sketch challenge and I'm really beginning to like it.

Anyhoo, I thought I'd do the Created by Courtney Challenge this week also. It is to make something that is inspired by nature. It just so happens that this month's Stamp of the Month from Close To My Heart is called Butterfly Wings and I needed to make some samples for my board to show off this cute set. I have a workshop on Saturday and the ladies that usually come were crazy about this set every since the Spring catalog came out. I had a lot of fun with this card, because I tried to tissue stamp the butterfly and I didn't really like it so I took my blush and sweet leaf markers and did the outside of the butterfly, but then realized I didn't have a spring iris marker, so I took my blending pen and the ink pad and made my own marker. I have always had trouble using the blending pen because I never really knew how to use it, but it does come in handy when you don't have the marker you need. This is my first attempt at a Mojo Monday Challenge and also a sketch. I wish I would have random stamped the crystal blue cardstock a little better so you could see more of the background butterflies. Anyhoo, I hope you like it. It went together fairly easy too. That is everything, but the bow. I'm not very happy with it. I think I'll have Maria Gurnsey teach me how... LOL!

I made this card for a friend of mine who is retiring this week. We'll see if she makes it to work the rest of the week. She took lack of work on Monday and called in her last sick day today. We have collected almost $100 for her present from just her co- workers. I am in charge of getting her something with the money. I told the people I work with that I would buy a $50 gift card to Cracker Barrel and with the rest of the money I would get her a gift certificate to her beauty shop, because she gets perms on a regular basis. I thought it sounded like a good idea and so did so of the other girls.

Anyhoo, on with the card I used the Feb '09 stamp of the month called Easter Eggs and also the set called Dainty Thoughts. I used blush, chocolate, hollyhock, and colonial white card stock. Big pinks flowers and the chocolate collection ribbon rounds, and crystal stickles. I thought it looked pretty plain, but I guess it is alright. I hope you all enjoy.

Here's a little sample of what I have been I've been up yo lately. I had a workshop yesterday and we did this 2 page LO and had a lot of FUN. I made several cards to show off the Stamp Of The Month and the Constant Campaign for February from Close to My Heart. While I was getting ready for the party I was also getting ready for my singing debut at church today. We have recently joined a new church and I showed them I can sing with the Lord's help. I sand Bread Paisley's song "When I get where I'm going". It looked like everyone was moved, because I seen a lot of people wiping their eyes. I can't tell you how good the Lord is to me because there is just so much he has done for me and my family. If you are a true Christian you can relate. I really hope everyone had a great Sunday and hopefully a better Monday. So I'm off for the night1

Hello all! It's been awhile since my last blog, but I have been busy, busy, busy. I thought I would share with you a LO I did a few weeks back. I really love this paper and I thought this picture suited it well.

We had our pictures made in October by a friend of mine and this was one of my many favorites. I have a workshop tomorrow and I have been making cards all night. I'll try to get some pictures of what I did and post them for your viewing pleasure. Ha Ha!

As I said before I have been so busy with all the birthday's we have this month. The most important is that of my beautiful little girl. She turned 5 this month and it was really hard on me. My baby is growing up. Well I guess better get going because my hubby is trying to set up the Wii we just got out of layaway and he wants me to help set it up. I'm Back!

I know it has been forever since I've posted, but I have been busy, busy, busy. Let me give you the run down on what I've been up to. Last weekend we had to make a run to my mother-in-laws house. Mind you that it is in West Virginia only an 8 hour drive is all. I have never been down there in the winter because my husband says the weather is to unpredictable and he doesn't want to get snowed or iced in there. The only reason we went was because we had a funeral to go to. My husbands niece had suddenly passed away. So we left on Thursday and came home on Sunday. The trip down wasn't that bad, but the trip home was awful! We hit black ice for about 100 miles in Kentucky and could go any faster than 35 mph. Made for a long and scary trip. After we got home we were so stressed from the trip we napped about all day long.
On Monday of this week I got on the CTMH bulletin boards and seen a challenge. I made the following LO for the whole week. I know you probably don't think that is a l0t, but for me to do any scrapping through the week is amazing. These pictures were taken last year and just screaming to be put on a page. I got it done and am happy with it. Now today I get to sit down and scrap to my hearts content, but I have so many cards to make for birthdays, and sympathy, and thinking of you that it will probably take all day to do. We'll see though and maybe you will too.
I have also followed my diet this week, but I don't feel like I am losing any weight. I don't have a decent scale to weigh on so I guess I'll have to wait until the weigh in on February 28th.
I hope everyone has a super Saturday. May your scrapbooks never be full, and your camera never empty.

2 funernals and a baby

Well this week I had a teacher from my high school lose her husband suddenly and also a high school friend lose her grandfather. You know what they say about death that it comes in 3. So I had to make two sympathy cards. Also I had a former pastor and his wife have their 4th boy this past week. I for one would not be able to handle 4 boys all under the age of 5. My hats off to them. For the baby card I made it using Tressa Black's swinger card idea. It turned out cute, but the nose looks like a little pig to me. I think it might have needed more on the top, but it got sent anyway. I was pretty happy with my sympathy cards and got some good feedback from the girls on the CTMH bulletin boards. Hopefully though I won't have to make to many of these. I hope everyone has a good week.

One week down 7 to go!!

Well I made it one week on the Lose to Win Challenge and I didn't cheat all that much. James had a sweet tooth yesterday and made the ever tempting BROWNIES!!! They were Mississippi Mudd and they were worth every calorie! I'm glad he ate more than me. It's so much easier for him to lose the weight than it is for me.
Now it's time to get back to school too. It has been so hard after being out of school for almost 20 years to go back, but I now have 12 credit hours down and going for 3 more this semester. I think this class will be more interesting to me, because I think it is more hands on. It's easier for me to learn if I do something than just read the directions.
Well that's about it for today so have a great SONday and hope each of you reading this will go to church somewhere and get to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior. God has blessed me with so many things I can't thank him enough. He really don't want thanks he wants us to lead other people to him. He loves us all and doesn't want to leave anyone behind.

Lose to Win... Weigh In.... Day 1

Well today was the first day of the rest of our lives. James and I are starting the local Biggest Loser contest the runs from January 3 to February 28. Since my birthday is on Monday we decided to go ahead and splurge today and start tomorrow. We did however have to go weigh in. UGH!!! I hope I can get a real good start on this diet. I know I can do it, but it's gonna be harder than before.

Anyway I got to pick for my birthday where we got to go and I decided Dave and Buster's. It was GREAT food and had good fun too. We had been to the one in Chicago a few years back with my cousin and had a blast! I thought Kas would enjoy it this year... and guess what.. She DID! We had a lot of fun til we cashed in our coupons and we didn't have enough for what she wanted. She cried a little, but not to long. When we got ready to leave she crashed in the car about 10 minutes into the drive home. All in all it was a great day except for losing my voice again today. I can't wait until the doctor gets back in town Monday. I'm tired of losing my voice every stinkin' January until March it seems. Well I hope everyone had a great day today. God bless each of you.

Happy New Year!!

It's been about a week since I wrote anything, but with working 10 hours a day at my boring job I don't get to do the stuff I love!! :( Well we went to our friends house tonight to ring in the new year and we were home by 10:30. Ha Ha! We had a lot of fun though. We watched a movie, ate pizza, and played a couple of games. Tomorrow is a big day though, because my friend gave me a homemade gift card for Hobby Lobby!! She has done this once before and it was a gift card for Close To My Heart!. That was before I became a consultant. Anyway she took a 12x12 page and dolled it up and made a pocket on it and stuck $30 in it. It said Hobby Lobby gift card so I guess I'll be forced to use it there. Ha! Ha! Well I haven't got to do any artwork this week, but tomorrow is 2009 and I hope to keep my promise to myself and make something creative everyday. Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Just a quick note to tell everyone Merry CHRISTmas! It's really early in the morning and everyone is asleep. I'm sure we will be getting up in about an hour to see if SANTA came last night! I'm so excited. He's pretty good to me every year. I wonder what I got this year!! I hope he brings me a Cuttlebug! Here's a Christmas card I made this year. It's out of the Evensong Paper packet from CTMH. The stamp sets used are Annotations and Evergreen. Also used some clear sparkles. The inks are New England Ivy and Cranberry. Everything is from CTMH. This is the first year that I have made all my Christmas cards and I felt really satisfied with what I made. I even had a few people tell me they thought they were store bought. WOW! What a compliment. I never think my stuff is good enough, but everyone that received a card really likes it. Now I think I'll make a box of cards for my mother-in-law for mother's day. I think she'll really like it. She loves to send cards. Well I guess that's it for today. I'll post some Christmas pictures tomorrow. Have a great day!

It is cold cold cold here today, but no snow. The wind is blowing and it is about 7 degrees, but no SNOW. I think I've said in a earlier blog that if it is going to be cold we need snow. We never seem to get any.BOOHOO! :( So what do you do on the first day of winter with a sick child? Rest and watch Christmas shows on TV. DH's cute Bethlehem card

Hey all just wanted to share this card with you all. My little girl is running a fever today and she and I were taking a nap when my DH decided to use some of my left over scraps to make this card. It really surprised me and my little girl when we woke up from our nap. He said the mail man had came again and left this card. LOL. He really is a great man. The reason for making the card was he was waiting for the battery on his drill to charge so he could work on our recliner and he said he was bored. This is not the first time he has paper crafted. When I first started scrapbooking 4 years ago he cut out a bunch of shapes that he thought looked like fall leaves for e to use on a page. When I wasn't looking he laid out the page and thought it looked great. Needless to say I used his shapes because I thought it was cute the way he wanted to get involved. For this card he used CTMH Boom-Di-Ada Creative Basics, Bethlehem stamp set, Hollyhock CS, Graden Green brads, and a strip of Evensong Creative Basics.

I seen a sketch challenge on Sparkle's blog the other day and I thought I'd play along. At first I thought I'd do a birthday card and make the circles into balloons, then I came across another blog that was offering blog candy for a cause ( I'll post the site at the end of this post). I thought this was such a better idea than a birthday card as this little girl needs our prayers. The card is for her family to let them know that my family and I are praying hard for this little one. I know we are miles apart and I do not even know this child's family, but God does and if God does then so do I. Back To Work... :(

Well I went back to work today after being off for a month due to a back injury. It was hard, but I did it. I really missed being with Kas all day, but I have to make money to support my habit. Ha Ha! After we got home I decided that I needed to make some more Christmas cards for my co-workers then my DH said he needed about 8 to 10 for his co-workers. So I set out to make these cutey patotey's real quick. Thank goodness for the CTMH bulletin boards. These are really quick and easy to make. I used the holiday creative basics from last year, colonial white cardstock, November Stamp of the month "All Decked Out",Ponderosa Pine &Cranberry ink. Well that's about it for the night, I need to get some rest because 4 am comes around pretty quick. :(

Majorie's Color Challenge #43

Well I had so much fun doing the color challenge last week I thought I'd try again this week. I had the "BOX" man come today (that's what Kassidee calls the UPS man) and he brought me some new thing to play with. Don't you just LOVE the "box" man. Ha Ha! I got my December stamp of the month. I don't ever make Valentine's, but I need to get this set to show my customers. With the colors Marjorie picked this week I decided to go a bouquet of flowers. I used tulip for the flowers by first and second generation stamping and used the topiary for the swirls and stems. I first and second generation stamped them also. I also added prism glitter to every other flower petal and the sentiment. I added some buttons for a little more pop. I seen a card like this on the Close to my Heart consultant bulletin board and thought it was avery good idea, so I decided to lift it. I can't remember which consultant it was that made it, but I love the idea using the flowers like that. Sometimes I am creatively challenged. Ha Ha! I finally go back to work tomorrow so I won't get as much creative time, but I am still going to try for something creative a day in 2009.

Another Day of Shopping

Well James and I went shopping today with his brother and sister in law. They totally crack me up. This is the first trip in I don't know when that we went anywhere with any kids. It was so much fun. We went to several different places and spent a total of $8. I think they spent $13. What big spenders we are with only 12 days left until Christmas. Ha Ha! When we got home I decided to be a little creative so I did these pages. I used the Perfect Day paper and Stickease from Close to my Heart. I didn't really like this paper at first but somehow I've used 2 packages of it. The brads are from Spare Parts and Doodlebug Designs. I think in 2009 I will try to do something creative everyday. Whether it be cards or pages maybe I'll finally get caught up. Well I need to get off the computer and go to bed. Sunday school starts at 9:30 and it will be here before you know it.

Hello cyber gals and guys.. I know I didn't get a post in yesterday, but had to do Christmas cards. Finally got them done and then we had to watch Horton hears a who. Kas loved it. It was really late when it was over though, but we slept in pretty late. I did get to be creative today though I finished up my girl layout for the It's all about the Cricut swap. I just hope it's good enough. I feel like my work isn't as good as some of the talented ladies whose blogs I read daily. I do get inspiration from them though. Kassidee and James made some cookies tonight too, but they won't be around long enough for Santa. Ha Ha! Hope everyone had a fantastic Friday and is looking forward to a great weekend.

Mommy Scrap's Color Challenge #42

Ok so I've been very intrigued by all these color challenges Mommy Scrap's does. So I thought I would get my creative juices flowing and see if I could come up with something for this challenge. It has three of the five colors like she said in the rules. I used Chocolate, Crystal Blue and Outdoor Denim. Christmas Shopping.... DONE!!

Well Kassidee and I went to town today and finished up Christmas shopping. Now for the fun part.... the wrapping. YUCK! That is the worst thing about Christmas I think. I really do not like that part of the whole thing. Maybe a little elf will come and do it for me. Ha Ha! I also took 3 tests today that weren't as hard as I thought they would be. I'm just glad my classes are over for this semester... Anyway, on to the more fun stuff. I made this page for a swap I am currently in. It's all about the Cricut Swap. I used the Doodletype and Doodlecharms cartridges for this project. I used the Rustic Trail paper packet from Close to my Heart. To bad it's retiring this year. I just love it. Of course my little girl is such the ham. So I needed to take her picture too. Hope you enjoy.

Well today I probably heard that about 400 times today. Kassidee always wants to help do anything you are doing and you can't help, but say yes. She is a very energetic little 4 year old. Last night I was finishing up some pages for a my first swap I've participated in and she wanted to help do everything. She cut all my circles out on the cricut for me and did it very willingly. Hopefully it will always be this way, but somehow I doubt it. She stayed up with me as long as she could, but finally had to go crawl in bed. Today however she helped her daddy put the Christmas decorations out. Like I said she always wants to help do anything your doing. That's about all for today. Tomorrow hopefully we can get some Christmas cookies made. YEAH YEAH! I just love baking for the holidays. Hope everyone had a good day today.

18 days til Christmas!!!

Well only 18 days left til Christmas and I finally got my advent calendar done. I had a lot of help from my little girl too she punched out all the snow flakes and glittered them for me too. She loves to help anyway she can. She is so awesome. This is a picture of the final project. I think it turned out pretty good. This is the first time I have ever made an altered item and really didn't know how to do it, but I asked some really creative ladies on the CTMH bulletin board how the decorate the My Creations Artboard and they were so nice looking. I just hope mine can stand up to theirs. That's about all for today. Hope you stop by again soon.

Really New to Blogging

Ok so here goes it. I have been looking at all these other blogs and thinking I should start one. Well I did it!! I'm not real sure what to write so I'll tell you about my day. I woke up this morning and found out we had a dusting of snow last night. YEAH!! Because if it's going to be cold we need snow. I knew my little girl would love it too, but our dogs not so much because they have never seen snow, because this is their first winter with us. My husband came into the bedroom to get the dogs to put them out and laughed so hard when he was watching them. I love it when he laughs. It is infectious!! We went to town later in the day and sign up for the Lose to Win contest that starts in January sponsored by a local hospital and YMCA. I'm sure that will be a lot to blog about in the next couple of months. I hope to post some of my artwork before long and feel free to comment on anything.
